  1. Complete your member profile. Be sure to add as much information as you can to increase your chances of being matched with or found by people or projects you might like to work with.

  2. Set your skills on the skills tab of your member profile. When your skills align with project Opportunities, we’ll automatically match you up. You can then use the Send Interest button to let the other party know you would like to be part of the crew.

  3. Explore projects and people, using filters to quickly find what you are looking for.

  4. See Who’s In that you already know and what they are working on. Start tracking people and projects.

  5. Use contact information provided by individual Slate42 members to connect with them.

  6. Filmmakers, list your projects to find talent, financing, sales, or distribution. 

  7. Investors, apply for apply to new project opportunities and maximize profits. 

To list your project you will need:

  • A title. Only unreleased projects may be listed on Slated.

  • A poster or image to represent your project. For example, a movie poster, production still, or art direction mockup.

  • A logline. 1-2 sentence summary that states the central conflict of the story and offers a “hook.”

  • The stage your project is in (development, packaging, pre-production, production, post-production, etc). Stage is used to match films to investors and other Slated members who often search/filter film projects of interest by stage.

  • At least one genre and one “topic” keyword. These will be used to match your project to investors and other Slated members who are interested in your specified topics and genres.

  • Language. Language of your script and what your project will be shot in.

  • Production Locations. Countries/cities where your project will be shot.

Keep in mind that project profile pages are set to “Hidden” by default and all fields can be edited prior to making your project visible, and even after that.

Our opportunity matching system automatically matches your project page with any Slate42 members who match your page’s opportunities, including accredited investors. Once your project page is activated, you’ll be able to message anyone any of your matches.

 

To match with accredited investors on Slated, there are two steps:

  1. Activate your subscription to gain Marketplace Access for your project

  2. Create a Financing Opportunity to match with investors

Every Financial Analysis bolsters your project by demonstrating your professionalism and market awareness. Third party, objective analysis serves as a confidence boost for your prospective financing and distribution partners, providing concrete reasons to join your project. And a prized few will stand out even more in industry eyes: The higher the ratio of your projected worldwide revenue to your production and marketing spend, the stronger the signal to Slate42’s community of creative talent and financing professionals.

When the skills you’ve set for yourself match with a project’s needs, Slate42 alerts both you and the project admins of this match.
